MiScore Update

During March, MiClub will be rolling out a major update to the MiScore app.

You can read about it here

The recommendation is to check if the update is available while you are home or on a wifi network. Because it’s a large update it may not be the best option to update just before you’re about to tee off.

Something to be aware of is that some older mobile phones may not be compatible with the update.

One element of the MiScore update, mentioned is to get ready for the release of the MiClub Pace of Play module. This module allows an overseer, if you like, to monitor where each group is on the course and send them a message if they are getting behind or taking too long. This is done via the MiScore gps/location functionality.

Related to Pace of Play, with the move of the Tuesday competition to a 1 tee start in groups of 4 at 8 minute intervals, we now have all competition days playing in the same format therefore the same Pace of Play guidlines can apply to all. On top of this, we can now extend the Tuesday timesheet to accommodate more than 60-70 players a 2 tee start allowed. Times can be available earlier or later to suit members.

Buggy Shed

It’s almost there.

Carts have been relocated to the shed and are being charged there.

Early next week the security, cctv and access control systems should be complete. The access system is Salto KS. Members who use the shed will be given a keyring fob and there is also a smartphone app (JustIn Mobile) which will allow members to unlock the door with their phone.

When we looked at the finished construction, it was obvious that the mezzanine level could be extended to accommodate up to 50 more sets of clubs. We’ve approached our builder about this and are given an estimate of 10 days to complete this work. Rather than suffer the inconvenience of doing this at a later stage, we’ve decided to extend the mezzanine and the current inconvenience by doing the work now before the shed opens.

It’s highly likely that the shed will be available to members by the end of this month (March). Once we receive key fobs (next week), these will be configured and distributed to members who have club storage. Once again, thank you all for your patience. The Board will determine the compensation each buggy store user shall receive at our March meeting.

Feedback in App

A recently added icon in the Warringah App (on page 2) can be used to provide feedback. As we maneuver through these times of transition and change it’s important that the club knows how its members and public players are coping with it. Obvious items might be almost 5 months without club storage, no TVs in the “bar”, especially now footy season is on. These things are coming, albeit more slowly than we anticipated. The changes to the Tuesday tee times or difficulties with the MiScore update can also be recorded via feedback.

Positive feedback is also nice to receive so tell us about things you like.

Website Update

Last weekend we converted the website from Joomla to WordPress. This makes it easier to update and WordPress is the backend MiClub uses for posts (such as this) so there’s the advantage of commonalility in the two.

Hole in One

Congratulations to Frank Marcar who had a hole in one at the 5th on Wednesday the 8th of March.
